At Bacari PDR, a friend and I shared dishes, conversed over topics that only years of friendship are privy to and appreciated a beautiful sunset surrounded by a picturesque ocean enclave. We began with dual glasses of Tempranillo – the 2010 “Monólogo” Crianza Rioja by Solar Viejo. An order of Bacaro fries (roasted garlic, lemon and smoked pepper sauce – no fried egg) and a grilled lamb burger (open faced, cucumber, shaved radish, Kronfli Bros. kale tahini sauce, grilled sourdough) soon followed. Paired together, the fries’ savory pepper sauce and the burger’s cooling kale tahini sauce proved to be finger licking deliciousness. Literally. I couldn’t stop licking my fingers as they “accidentally” made swirly patters on my plate.
An order of the Bacon & Brie grilled pizza whetted our tastebuds as we waited for our final, when-I-saw-it-at-another-patron’s-table-I-immediately-had-to-order-it, cicchetti. The piece de resistance? An order of glazed pork belly skewers (slow cooked, sweet mulling spice, umami reduction) paired with glasses of Château Coutinel’s 2011 Negrette, Italian Red. We finished, sharing the brown butter cookie dough (cardamon chocolate ganache, banana brûlée, candied walnuts, whipped cream) for desert.
Parking is shockingly easy, if you like to walk (residential). Otherwise, they have an extremely small lot.
