Stella Barra Santa Monica’s delicious food and ambiance made for a great night to celebrate our mutual successes – in food and in life.

We met under the premise to celebrate her new job at a fantastic downtown law firm. We started with glasses of the house red wine sangria, pared with the fresh local burrata plate (toasted toast points, organic extra virgin olive oil and wood-grilled grapes). Next, our respective pizzas. Based on our outstanding and helpful waitresses’ suggestion, we each ordered 50 / 50 pizzas. I ordered mine with half the Hobbs Pepperoni and half the House Made Pork Sausage. But – the piece de resistance of the night? A shared caramel butterscotch budino dessert paired with North Coast Brewing Company’s Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. The budino made us each utter guttural sounds only allowed when words simply cannot do oral pleasure justice.
